NearFar comes to London!

Sierra Leonean print dress by NearFar
To keep our minds off "hung-parliament" developments in the UK political scene, for the time being at least ... cult retailer Anthropologie, known for championing brands with soul, meaning and of course great designs, is bringing a unique brand of ethnic fashion from far away to a store near you, if you happen to be in London this summer.  The brand, NearFar, set up by Stephanie Hogg, features tailored playsuits and highwaisted shorts as well as shift dresses inspired by traditional Sierra Leonean prints.  At the heart of the brand and its designs is the passion to work with and be inspired by the Sierra Leonean people. NearFar is unique in that it works with organisations that train young Sierra Leoneans in the art of tailoring. Ten Years of Civil War has left the country with many uneducated and unemployed young people. Many of the tailors have lived as street children, been victims of commercial sex trade or been subjected to domestic abuse. In association with her close partner GoalSTA, NearFar has been able to help tailors profit from their skills and rebuild a life of stability for themselves and their families. NearFar's commitment to this cause is demonstrated by the fact that 10% of all sales is reinvested into the training of young tailors.
